Terms
These terms cover onwarder.com, the dashboard, Onwarder on your phone, and the MCP server at mcp.onwarder.com. Using any of them means this is the deal. It is short because the product is simple.
Awaiting legal review. This is how we actually run, written by the person who built it rather than by a lawyer. The company is named below and the governing law follows where it is registered. Neither has been through a solicitor yet. When the review lands, this page is replaced and re-dated, and you get told before anything material takes effect.
Who we are
Onwarder is a product of Quezzies Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16590159. Registered office: 11 Mercer Avenue, Ebbsfleet Valley, Swanscombe, DA10 1BG. Contact is support@onwarder.com.
What Onwarder is
A writing studio with a story-state engine in it. It stores your world, indexes it, and answers questions about it over MCP so the AI you write with stays consistent across a long book. It generates no prose and calls no model on your behalf. Any text your AI produces is between you and that provider, and nothing it suggests goes into your book unless you accept it.
Four commitments
These are shown on the pricing page and they bind us here. Like the rest of this page they are awaiting solicitor review; the review may change the wording, and it will not weaken the substance.
- Onwarder is free, and stays free. Writing in Onwarder with no account costs nothing and has no time limit: the library in your browser today, and the Mac and Windows apps once they are out. Only Onwarder Cloud is paid. That does not change.
- Your words are yours. We claim no right to screen, train on or remove what you write. The only writing we delete is what you delete, and your Cloud copy at least 90 days after Cloud ends, after telling you. We never touch the books on your devices.
- Export is always open. Every book exports whole, at any time, on any plan, trial spent or not. When Cloud ends, every book stays on your devices, so it exports for as long as you keep it.
- The Cloud trial counts days you use. 30 days you actually write on, not 30 days on the calendar. Time away costs you nothing.
Your account
You can write in your browser without an account, in the library that stays in that browser. You need an account for the free trial, Cloud, Onwarder on your phone and connecting an AI. Accounts are for one person; sharing a login is how a world gets overwritten by somebody you did not expect. Keep your sign-in safe and tell us if it gets away from you. You must be 16 or older.
Your work stays yours
You own your book, your world and everything you put into Onwarder. We take no licence over it beyond what running the service needs: storing it, backing it up, indexing it for search, and serving it back to you, to the AI apps you connect and to the readers you invite. That permission ends when you delete the data, or when your Cloud copy is deleted after Cloud ends.
Publishing a book page, a character card or a tier list is your choice each time. Publishing lets us show that page to anyone who has the link, and lets other people see and share it. When you take it down, the page stops being served: a book page within about a minute, a card or a tier list at once, though a card's or tier list's preview image can stay cached for up to a day. A copy or screenshot somebody already made is beyond anyone's reach. The privacy notice lists what each page shows.
The AI you connect
You connect your own model, on your own account, through MCP. That relationship is yours: their terms, their pricing, their privacy policy, their behaviour. We hand your data to the client you authorised, and we cannot control what it does next. The connection is read-only: your AI checks and suggests, and you decide what goes into the book. Revoke a connection from the dashboard whenever you like.
Fair use
Do not use Onwarder to:
- store or publish anything illegal, or anything that sexualises children
- harass a real person, or publish a card built to do it
- break into other people's data, or probe for a way to
- resell access to the API or the MCP server as if it were yours
- hammer the service in a way that degrades it for other writers, or work around a plan limit with scripts
If any of that happens we will say so and, where it is serious, suspend the account. You get your export either way.
Anything you make public, such as a book page, a shared scene, a critique, a character card or a tier list, also follows thecommunity rules. They say what is not allowed on public pages, how to report it and how to ask for a review.
Plans, prices and payment
There are two plans on the web, and writing on your own computer is neither of them: the no-account library in your browser, and the Mac and Windows apps once they are out, are free and need no account. That does not change. A free account writes for a trial of30 days of use, counted as days on which you write something, in UTC. Cloud ends for an account when its trial is spent without a subscription, or when a subscription ends with no trial days left. With Cloud, one library syncs to every device you sign in to. It works with no connection and sends your changes when you are back online, and Onwarder asks you only when two devices changed the same words. Everything you write is backed up to your account as you go. When Cloud ends, sync between your devices, connected-AI access, private reading links and the weekly chronicle email pause. Every book stays on your devices, and you can keep writing in it there. Your Cloud copy of your library, with its history and files, is kept for at least 90 days after Cloud ends. We email you before it is deleted. Subscribing again before then picks up where you left off. Files you saved are not affected. Onwarder Cloud is £8 a month or £79 a year in the UK, €9 a month or €89 a year in the euro area, and $10 a month or $99 a year elsewhere, with taxes as applicable. The price shown at checkout for your location applies, and writing resumes the moment a subscription is active. A subscription that lapses returns the account to free with any trial days that were left.
Payment runs through Stripe. The pricing section of the home page is the current, authoritative version of prices and allowances. Cancel whenever you like: access runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund part of a period by default. If something went genuinely wrong, email us and we will sort it out rather than hide behind this paragraph.
Storage is the meter that matters, because compute here is negligible. Cloud storage is 1 GB on the free trial and10 GB on Onwarder Cloud; the pricing section of the home page is the authoritative figure. Books in the no-account library on your own device do not count towards it. If you pass your allowance we tell you, and reads and downloads keep working while you either tidy up or upgrade.
Availability
Software breaks sometimes. We keep backups and we say so when something goes wrong, but there is no uptime guarantee yet. Keep an export of anything you would hate to lose. The export button is one click precisely so that sentence costs you nothing.
Ending it
Your account is deleted from the delete page in the dashboard. Emailsupport@onwarder.com and we will help you use it, or, if it is not open yet, tell you when it opens and confirm when your request is accepted. Deleting your account erases your Cloud copy of your library and readers' comments on your books. Books saved on your own devices, and files you saved, stay yours: we cannot reach them. The privacy notice says what deletion removes and how long it takes. If we ever need to end things at our end, other than for the serious misuse above, you get notice, a window to export, and a refund of anything you have paid for time you will not get.
Where the limits sit
Onwarder is provided as it is. We do not promise it will suit a particular book or never lose a byte. Where the law allows a limit, ours is the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the problem, and we are not liable for lost profits or for lost work you had an export button for. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited, including fraud.
Changes
These terms will change as the product grows up. The date at the top moves with them, and anything that materially affects you is emailed before it applies. Carrying on using the service after that is acceptance.
Governing law
The law of England and Wales, where Quezzies LTD is registered, and the courts of England and Wales. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in. This section has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor; if the review changes it, you will be told before the change takes effect.
