Help, Onwarder Cloud

Onwarder Cloud: what it adds, prices and cancelling

Onwarder is free on your device. Cloud is the paid part: your books in your account, in sync on every device you sign in to. Here is what it costs where you live, how to start, and how to stop.

You never need Cloud to write. Onwarder is free on your computer, phone or browser, with no account and no time limit. Cloud is for when you want your books in your account, on more than one device.

What Cloud adds

  • One library on every device, even offline. Start a scene on your laptop and finish it on your phone. See Write on more than one device.
  • If two devices change the same words, Onwarder asks which to keep. Nothing is lost.
  • Reader copies and a book page. Send private copies to readers and publish a page for your book.
  • Your own AI, connected to your book, if you want it. See Your own AI.
  • 10 GB of storage for your books, history and pictures. (The free trial has 1 GB.)

Coming soon: automatic Cloud backup of your whole library. Until then, save your library to a file now and then; that is free, with or without Cloud. See Backups and restoring.

Everything else, including writing, the story bible, continuity checks, import, export and the paperback interior, is free without Cloud.

Prices

Cloud is priced in your own currency:

Where you are Monthly Yearly
United Kingdom £8 £79 (about £6.58 a month)
Euro area €9 €89 (about €7.42 a month)
Everywhere else $10 $99 (about $8.25 a month)

On the web, Onwarder shows the price for where you are. If you buy Cloud in the App Store or Google Play, the store sets the price in your currency and shows it before you pay; it can differ slightly from the web price.

Free for your first 30 writing days

A new Cloud account is free for your first 30 writing days. A writing day is a day you actually write, not a day on the calendar, so a quiet fortnight does not use any up.

Start Cloud

On the web or a computer:

  1. In your library, choose Upgrade (or open Settings, Account, Onwarder Cloud).
  2. Under Choose your plan, pick Yearly or Monthly.
  3. Choose Continue. If you are not signed in, Onwarder asks you to Continue to Onwarder: sign in or create an account.
  4. Pay on the secure checkout page. In the desktop app this opens in your browser, and the app says Finish paying in your browser. This page updates when you’re done.
  5. You will see You’re on Onwarder Cloud.

On iPhone or Android (from the App Store or Google Play):

  1. Open Settings, then Account and Upgrade. Sign in if asked.
  2. Choose Yearly or Monthly.
  3. Tap the subscribe button, which shows the store’s price, and confirm with the store.

If you already pay for Cloud with the same store account, tap Restore purchases. The Google Play listing is in review. You can use Cloud in your phone browser today and sign in to the Android app once it is available.

Cancel

How you cancel depends on where you started. The billing page on onwarder.com has How to cancel with the right steps for you.

  • Bought on the web: sign in at onwarder.com, open Plan and storage, and choose Manage subscription. On the page that opens, choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
  • Bought on an iPhone or iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Onwarder Cloud and tap Cancel Subscription.
  • Bought on Android: open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, choose Onwarder Cloud and tap Cancel subscription.

Onwarder cannot cancel a store subscription for you; it has to be done in the store.

If Cloud ends

If you cancel, or your trial ends without a subscription:

  • Every book stays on your devices. You can keep writing in all of them, for free, as before.
  • Sync pauses. Your devices stop updating each other, and your library shows Cloud paused. Changes you make stay on the device you make them on.
  • Your Cloud books stay readable and downloadable for 90 days after Cloud ends, with their history and files. We email you before that period ends, then those Cloud books are deleted. Each device keeps its own copy of your writing. Deleting the Cloud books does not affect writing on a device.

Renew with Renew Cloud while your Cloud books are still there and they are kept. Renewal after deletion keeps your account but does not bring back deleted books. To put writing from a device back in Cloud after deletion, renew and deliberately sync again.

Save a file of your library now and then whatever you decide. It is the copy that depends on nobody, including us.
